…or dress in Forever21.
Turning 30 has been interesting. I really don’t feel that old. With the times changing, it makes me feel like 30 is the new 20, but, like… a version 2.0 and you know more things.
I’ve always enjoyed clothes. Not just because they keep me warm and prevent me from getting arrested for public indecency, but because it’s says something about you… or ME, rather.
While I first and foremost enjoy dressing up like a bum, (ie sweats, workout gear or anything loose) 24/7, there are times I wished I dressed up more.
To be honest, I really just like being comfy all the time.
I’m always on the fence of “should I dress up today?” “why?” “what’s the point?” ‘I’m literally just going to the store”
I’m usually home. Being an actress and pursing part time blogging, I spend most my days at home. I’m not gonna lie, I am 100% a home body and could literally never leave the house. I actually try to never leave the house at all costs. (just me? lol) On the other hand, I also love getting dressed up when its due! Dinner, date night, awards shows… you name it.
I also felt… awkward posting about fashion, because I really don’t consider myself a fashionista by any means. I put things together that I like and feel good in, and I hope that other people may agree. ( I mean, that’s what fashion is, right?) I guess I just feel, what is the point of getting dressed up if:
- A. I’m not going anywhere
- B. no one can see it?
So that’s what I kind of made my instagram about, and my blog (partly). I wanted to push myself to dress up more, and ‘model’ clothes. (I say that lightly cus I’m 5’3″ and I’m not really a model). I just like taking cool photos and hopefully inspire others to get out of their comfort zones to do the same! It gets me out of my comfort zone, and I feel pretty. I feel good about myself when I take a good picture and the clothes look good on me. I think, “yay Alex! you did a good job!” You can totally still be 30 and wear ‘hip’ clothes.
The more I post fashion, the less I will mansplain. This being my first post, I felt the need to get everything out in the open before I start acting like someone I’m not. It’s a growing process.
LET’S TALK CLOTHES:
I love Forever21. I think all their clothes are affordable, cute, well made and not just for young adults. In fact, a lot of their models look like they may very well my age.
I love these boots because they are very similar to the popular Doc Marten boots, but half the price.
This necklace style is super in, with the multi layering and simple gold chains. I’ve asked many people where they’ve gotten theirs, and most of the time it is through an expensive store. (I don’t know about you but I’m trying to save a dollar! ) Forever21 has amazing styles with necklaces that look just like the expensive ones!
